The holidays are a fun and joyous time but also a very busy one that can leave children, parents, and teachers feeling overwhelmed and further compound feelings of burnout and stress from another pandemic school year. As we approach 2022, it is the perfect time to learn simple and quick stress management practices to carve out a few minutes each Monday to recharge and prepare for the week ahead.
This workshop will highlight several practices within the DeStress Monday at School program, designed by Johns Hopkins University and The Monday Campaigns, to help students and the adults in their life, start every week with a new tool for managing stress. Examples activities include: "Mindful drawing," "Kindness Garden," and "Deep Breathing."
Why Monday? Research shows people who manage stress well on Monday are better able to reduce stress the rest of the week.
The workshop will be led by Meghan Crowley, Senior Program Associate with The Monday Campaigns and a former sixth grade teacher with a master’s in Health Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.
You will learn about making Monday a day to DeStress, and are encouraged to share these tools with their students and their teachers!
